October & November 2017 Roundup

There’s a new producer on the block. Afternoon Tea Adventures has released part one of their first Doctor Who story - Widen Your Gaze.

“The Doctor and Julia are being followed by something inexplicable and inhuman, and in a deserted station along a lonely coastal railway line a ghost train is waiting for them.”

It’s a good quality production with mystery and general Doctor Who peculiarness.

DWAD released their four part audio adventure Rhythm of the Piper.

“When the TARDIS takes him to Lower Saxony in 1284, he is surprised when he comes face to face with a strange plague afflicting the young of Hamelin. Though what he initially thinks is a terrible illness turns out to be something much worse.“

That's another batch of fan fun for you all. There could be more productions out there that haven't shown on my radar yet, so drop me a comment if you know of anything. I will endeavour to have a thorough search for new material in the near future. In the meantime keep your ears peeled for some Xmas releases.

July 2017 Roundup

This month saw the latest instalments of Master Whovians series ‘Mystery of the Doctor’. The Last Battle features spacecraft, a temple, and a Dalek, which naturally means a difficult situation for the Doctor. That is followed by Code of the Critorians. About a lizard-like race of conquerors. Both available on youtube.

The Doctor Who Audio Dramas have reached episode five of their Dalek story Takamagahara. I’ve not had the chance to listen yet but I believe that is the finale. Go check it out.

Lastly, The Fall of Sarah Jane Smith concludes on Lupien’s channel. With more to come in future.

If you know of other new releases not yet covered here, please get in touch with a quick comment.

June 2017 Roundup

What’s new?

The Doctor Who Audio Dramas are currently releasing Takamagahara (aka Dalek Oblivion). Episode three recently went up on their site - - with more to come. As the title suggests the story takes us to medieval Japan and the time of the samurai. A village trying to survive bandits and strange mysteries.

And if you want to try something different we now have, as far as I’m aware, the first ever fan audio play for The Sarah Jane Adventures. The Fall of Sarah Jane Smith concerns an attack on SJS from the Shadow Architects, alternate worlds, and the 11th Doctor. So far this young fan group has released episode one -

Full Circle

What the hell happened?

It’s been a long time since Nerva Beacon has had the attention I would like to give it. It has always been on my mind to get things back in shape and now the Beacon has been reborn from the flames once more. Right back to where we started. A nifty little blog.

Where things went wrong in the past was simply taking on too much work to try and produce a flasher, more in depth site. A great ambition which led to a database that didn’t fulfil it’s purpose. So now it’s back to basics allowing me the time to do what’s important. Listen to more audios.

The database is already fully up to date again and chock full of new listings. There are a total of 978 audio plays from 122 producers. Many of which have working links for streaming and downloading. I’m itching to catch up on a lot of fan works that I’ve not gotten round to for too long now. And because the Beacon is more fun to manage again I will try my best to post regular updates and things of interest.

There are so many new audios these days due to advances in technology that it’s getting harder to keep up with it all. If something is missing or incorrect please get in touch and I’ll get on to updating it asap. Maybe you have an audio play of your own you’d like added? All help is really appreciated, especially if it means more new stories to listen to.

That’s enough waffling from me. Enjoy the site and come back soon.
